The ninth artwork in the past collection, this piece is inspired by tree roots navigating and coiling among the soil searching for water and communicating though a mycelial network creating a system of balance and wonder . This is the second artwork belonging to an intentional set of works the “elemental” collection, which is based on the four elements of water, earth, fire, and air as well as a process that is affected by that element. In creating this collection, I began to expand the bounds of symbolic expression as I tried to represent these concepts in a simplified abstract portrayal.
